Finbarr Corkery, owner of Macau Sporting Club, was driving force behind the charity event, and from there it all began to grow legs. When we decided that the theme would be ‘James Bond’, we could think of only one venue we wanted to host this event in. We had prizes from diamond necklaces to hotel vouchers, to afternoon tea, and just about everything in between. Proceeds from this raffle would go directly to Marymount, of which the prizes had generously been sponsored by so many of the amazing businesses around The VQ. In order to maximise funds raised for Marymount, drinks on the night were kindly sponsored by Heineken and Barry & Fitzwilliam, meaning that our attendees had more change in their pockets to buy raffle tickets. We pooled together as many resources as possible, from contacts to capabilities - teamwork was certainly key to this event.Īnother key element to this event’s success was the generosity of the local community and sponsors. It began with an idea to club together the community to raise money for a very worthy charity. There’s no denying that there was power in numbers for this event. We’ve been working with The VQ for almost a year now, and while this wasn’t our first large-scale event with this client, it definitely had the most moving parts!
